Baby sick
Posted: 02-26-08 00:07am

My poor lil man. He had his shots on friday and since then he hasn't been the same. He NEVER cries and since he had his shots, my Brian is gone and has been replaced by another child. Brian has been crying almost constantly since his shots. We have given him Tylenol but that doesn't seem to work. He moves around like he is in complete pain. Tonight he was screaming. We finally got him to calm down and go to sleep. It wasn't too bad today while I was at work, which is the reason we didn't take him to the doctors.

These are the times I wish my lil one took to a pacifier. He has been using me as a comfort paci practically ALL night. Not fun.

We feel at a loss of what to do, really. All that seems to make him happy or semi content is being a human pacifier. Any advice? I should just go buy a pacifier or lansonil for me lol! Poor babe

Update: He was up ALL night and finally broke his fever. He had a 103 temp. He seemed to feel better when he had a blow out. At 2:00 am he was up, laughing and being is normal curious self. Then the power went out and our stupid furnace stopped working again. The temp got down to 64 degrees because the furnace was blowing out cold air. Not good with a sick baby. We had to wake up again at 4:00 am to fix it. I am SO TIRED!!! It is 8:00 and Brian seems to be doing great.

There is definitely something going around here. Everyone EVERYONE is sick.

Poor guy Sad . I'm glad he's feeling better today, but that sucks about your power going out! Have you gotten it fixed yet?

Everyone here is sick too. I think it's just that time of year.

Double ear infection - dx today. He was screaming all last night. Poor little guy. He seemed fine this morning and went to daycare but we received a phone call this afternoon.

Hopefully this will be our last sleepless night. So many people are sick.

Our power sometimes randomly goes out and then comes back on. It just seems to happen at night. Very strange.

Karin;

Did you talk to the doctor about a possible reaction to his shots? I wonder why they didn't notice he had an infection at his appointment? I am so sorry he isn't doing well. Stuff has been flying around here like it's going out of style. Right now we are in a lull as far as viruses go. I would really ask your doc about this! I worry about the little guy!

The nurse finally called when I was in urgent care and Brian was screaming so I wasn't able to talk with her. I do believe that he had a reaction to his shots. A horrible reaction.

From what i understand, it can worsen the next time. Doctors HAVE to report this to the CDC and they maintain a website just to record and publish reactions to vaccinations. I would make suer it gets well-documented and I would also talk to them before more vaccines are given. I am so glad he's better. How are you holding up?

I was watching larry king live yesterday night and this doctor was saying how most doctors don't report reactions to vaccines. I will call my doctor tomorrow to encourage him to report it. They may not, though, because it's hard to prove that it wasn't caused by a virus.

I am very tired. Thanks for asking. My husband got free tickets to some big puppet show tonight with frogs?/ I have no idea what it is really. It must be big because it's held at the civic center. I hope it won't be too much for Brian. I have no idea what to expect. If it's like Barney, I think I will die. It will be fun for Nate, though.
