I broke mt tibia and fibula about 2 weeks
ago. The surgery went well and a metal rod
was put through my tibia and pinned at the
ankle and knee. The fibula was realigned
and I was told it will heal normally using
the tibia as a splint.
I still have some swelling around the
joints and muscle tighness in my calf that
gets some relief from stretching. What I'd
like to find out is the recovery timeline.
How long before I can drive, before I can
walk(with/without a crutch) and most
importantly how long before I can get back
training and playing football!!
Thanks!!

recovery from fracture varies, but so far
it is your surgeon that can give a
estimated timeframe.
if you are young then the recovery is
faster compared to older ones who had
surgery as well.
continue doing your exercises because that
will help alot in your recovery...

do you have any followup with your
doctor?
did you overworked your legs yesterday?
it will be better if you would ask your
doctor what are the movements or
activities you are allowed to do, because
you should allow your bones to heal before
making extreme movements.

Ya I have a followup this wednesday.
I didnt overwork my leg at all didnt even
use it all i did was have it down in a
sitting position rather than lying back
with the leg elevated. The slow nature of
the recovery is really pissing me off!!
