unprotected sex HIV symptoms ? Posted: 02-28-08 00:47am
I'm unsure of what I have, but I need some
answers to tune down my anxiety. I had
protected sex a while back in November 07.
Starting mid Dec, my tonsils were mildy
swollen, had diaherra for 2 days, and
severe abdominal cramps for 2 days. those
symptoms went away . ..
But, during the past 5-7 weeks, the left
side of my neck became enlarged. There
were patches of white on my tonsils, not
to mention consistant tingling everywhere.
And just last week, i had 2 days of fever
and night sweats that went away. I've
been noticing small red dots on my body
that were not there before.
I've taken 3 HIV tests in the last 3
months. Any suggestions of what is going
on with me?

The last test you took should be accurate
as you are supposed to wait three months
from the point of infection. Or from the
time of risk behaviour. I am very
concerned about your left side of your
neck becoming enlarged. Please make sure
to see a doctor. You might have already
seen a doctor. Your immune system could
be reacting to something else other than
HIV. Looking at what you have written,
you have come into contact with something
that is affecting your immune system. Let
the doctors figure what it is as soon as
possible. 3 HIV tests in three months is
not necessary. You need one test after
three months from when the risk activity
was done. All the best - Mson.

It could be several things. Next time you
go to the doctor, write down all of your
symptoms before you go. Lots of times you
get there and forget something important
that you wanted to discus. And Muthoni is
right, 3 tests in 3 months is not going to
make a difference. Usually it takes a
while to get an HIV test back so that
doesn't seem right that you have had 3
tests in 3 months....?

are very knowledable and will be able to
give you good advise.
There are other things possibly for them
to check out for you. My friends on
eHealth Forum tell me it takes a long time
for HIV to show up in your system.
Good luck and be well.

And, like Homer said, write down your
questions and what you need to know. Very
important because you go in there and you
are already in a state of stress. Treat
your office visit like a visit to your
CPA. It gets down to business. Your time
and your money and their time to give you
the answers. Time to start reclaiming
your power when it comes to your
time/health/space.
