chance of being pregnant ? Posted: 02-28-08 02:12am
Okay, so me and my girlfriend had sex on
monday the 25th of Feb. We got caught up
in the moment and didn't use a condom. I
did however use the withdrawal method
without any problems in timing or
whatever. Yes yes I know not using a
condom was a bad choice, I don't need the
lecture, Ive heard it 100 times. Her
period started basically the begining of
Feb, so her ovulation period was roughly
the middle of Feb. Since our intercourse
was significantly after her ovulation
period (yes I know its not always
perfectly in the middle) and Im certain my
urethra was clear of sperm from the
previous ejaculation, what are the chances
that she got pregnant, and what do you
suggest we do? She said she expects her
period to start up again around the
beginning of March, so I figured all we
can do at the moment is wait it out and
see what happens, and if she doesnt get
her period by the 6th or 7th, we'd get a
pregnancy test. Does this sound viable?
Any other suggestions? Since it happened
monday, and it is currently thursday,
should we consider the morning after pill
in the next few days? Again, thanks for
the help.
Questions:
-What are chances of being pregnant?
-Suggestions?
-Morning after pill within the next few
days help (if so, what brand do you
suggest)?

Well, what you should have done was go get
Plan-B immediately. It's been a few days,
but it might still be effective.
You really have to get it within the first
2-3 days. 3 days is pushing it, and this
is day 4. There is only one brand. Good
luck... I'd start discussing what you will
do if she is pregnant. There are three
options, and it's all HER choice.
If she's not pregnant, then she really
needs to get on some kind of hormonal
birth control. That way in the "heat of
the moment", forgetting a condom won't
matter.

You should get PLAN B.
It is not too late. It can be used up to 5
days after sex.
It can cause delays in periods for some
women, or an earlier period, so do not be
alarmed.
Birth control would be very effective, and
even moreso than condoms.
Parental consent is not needed for BC
pills and exams

I've learned that NO MATTER how safe you
think you are, (aka, you could be taking
birth control pills, using the pull out
method after ovulation,) there's still a
chance. You could get extremely unlucky,
and you wouldn't be the first one. Take
planB even though it won't be as effective
and hope for the best? She should be
getting her period soon anyway.

Thanks for the quick replies everyone.
Outside of everything else, what do you
guys honestly think the chances are that
she got pregnant? With sex being about 7
days before her period starts and the fact
that I used the withdrawal method
correctly and pre-cum probably still got
in, but Im 99% positive that I had used
the bathroom a few times since I had last
ejaculated. Ive done a bit of reading and
from what Ive read, it is highly unlikely
based on our timing, status of my pre-cum,
and successful withdrawal. I just want all
of your personal opinions are on what her
chances are of being pregnant. Thanks
again.

Just as you said, the chances aren't high,
but I have the worst luck in the world so
don't be asking me It should of been
fine, as long as she ovulated on time and
not a week late, so good luck
