My patient got his facial paralysis five
months ago and he came to see me two weeks
ago. I treated him with a routine method
for facial paralysis with the acupoints of
hand and foot Yangming channels and local
facial ones, including Xiaguan (ST 7),
Dicang (ST 4), Jiache (ST 6), Taiyang
(EX-HN5), Zanzhu (BL 2), Fengchi (GB 20),
Yifeng (TE 17), Hegu (LI 4), Zusanli (ST
36), Yingxiang (LI 20), Yangbai (GB 14),
Chengjiang (CV 24), Taichong (LR 3) and so
on, but it seems not successful. Is there
any other better ways for it? Thank you

the channels stagnated in the local area,
especially around the eye and ear and at

TCM holds that the prolonged disease must
have stagnation. The treating principle
should be activating blood circulation and
remove stasis.
If possible, the herbal medicines can be
used.
What is more, the functional exercises
should be combined. Teach him how to do
facial massage by himself will be helpful
for him.

herpes zoster.
Other causative factors can be excluded.
Vitamin B12 Injection for two weeks.
Through observation, he has channel
stagnation around his mouth, but I am not
sure about it. “The prolonged disease
must have stagnation”, I really have
heard it, makes sense very much. I planed
to try the bleeding therapy. But the
bleeding has any side effects or not?
