Hi, I'm 33 weeks and 1 day pregnant. I have been feeling alot of pressure in my pelvis. Does this mean the baby is dropping? Does that also mean that I'll go into premature labor? I have a doc appt tomorrow, so I'll ask him then, but I thought I'd see what you girls had to say.

Welcome to the end of pregnancy. It is uncomfortable. You are big and you waddle and it generally sucks.

Feeling pressure is 100% NORMAL. Feeling low is 100% NORMAL.

Will you go into premature labor? Why, do you have risk factors for premature labor? What you are experiencing is all normal for pregnancy. The larger you get, the more pressure you are going to feel.

Ingi, I knew you'd answer me! You are always so helpful!

No I'm not at risk, but for some reason I thought if the baby dropped that it was the beginnings of labor. I'd like to hold off until I'm full term for the baby's health. This is my first one, so I'm just not sure what everything means and to be honest the websites that I looked this up on freaked me out with some of the things they say.

Nope, dropping doesn't mean diddly. It just means baby is lower. A lot of women never drop.

what is normal for a first time pregnancy, for delivery I mean. To be on time, early, late for labor? I'm due April 16th and my mother scheduled my shower for the 12th! I'm so afraid I'm going to go into labor at my shower. Yikes

First time pregnancies are not usually on time. Everyone fears going into early labor, but then they don't and it gets old when you go overdue.

If you are not at risk for premature labor (you'd know by now if you were), then you shouldn't worry about it at all.

the average for first time mothers is 41w3d. of course that doesn't mean much, you can go earlier or later.

why'd your mom schedule it so close?

i also feel like my baby may have dropped a bit. today i've been feeling a lot of weird movement very low in my pelvis. my son never dropped.

my mom want's my dad to be there and that is the only day he'll have off of work that month. She originally scheduled it for March 15th but my aunt decided that even though my baby shower was that day, that she was going to throw my grandparent's a 50th wedding anniversary party. nice. their anniversary isn't until the next week either.

isn't pregnancy lovely? the only thing that good that comes from pregnancy is the baby and feeling it move... everything else? Ugh.

I'm about a week behind you, and I WISH my baby would drop. It's LIVING under my left rib... And like you, this is my first and I am also SO scared I'm going to go into labor early. Must be hardwired into our brains or something. My friend was around 30wks when she started noticing she'd dropped and you could definitely tell a week after she started complaining about it. She delivered a day before 41wks.

ask your doctor about their induction policy. Mine doesn't like you going over 41wks, so if I don't go into labor before that, they get to induce me, yippie.

Good Luck Sweetie!

god i felt a ton of pressure at right about 28 weeks and it only got worse, i diddnt worry tho. as my sons duedate approached... no show. he had to be induced at 41 weeks since he was running out of fluid and room. i think this is normal so i wouldnt trip but talk to your dr. if you feel insecure about it, he will know your status better then us girls here do. goodluck and congrats. =)
