Dear sirs
i am maddina age 32 years from india. Exactly two and half years back I had a seizure. Before that I want to give some information about me sir. From my childwood I have some what dipressions. Before this seizure was happened(almost 4 and 1/2 years back from now) I had dizziness( I want to say my mind was not active and I was not intrested to speek to others). At that time I felt that this is due to dipression because this was happened during my education holidays, after that I joined in the university where these are almost disappeared. Now come to 3 years back, this time also holidays, ofcourse this time I had some dipressions. During this time I am getting good sleep irrespective of dipression,in the sleep some times I am with deeper and deeper sleep, when I woke up these symptoms were appearing and I came out of that when shake up my head only, this time also I neglected. Are these symptoms of seizure?. Now it was two and half years back, that day I walked up to 2 to 3 kilometers, then after 2 to 3 hours I went to my lunch there I suddenly felt down unconsciously.Immediately after this incident I met doctor nuerophysian, he diagnosed me with eeg and ct plain brain scan.Eeg came abnormal, brain scan came normal. After that he put me on medication for seizure(can I think that this is the my first seizure). Now I am using tegritol cr 200 mg two per day, last two years went well with some times lack of concentration. No seizures at all in these two years, these days also I am getting good sleep,i dont know wether I am getting seizure or not during the sleep. After these two years I felt unnecessary tension, from that time I got vomting sensation, nerves week, giddiness, unsteadyness, jerks in the body and even in the brain and also vibratins in the back part of my head.Immediately I met my doctor,he tested my blood for testing of liver problems and other blood tests for know the side effects, but the report came normal, after that he told I will continue the same tablets and will use the anti- anxiety tablets(deanxit) for three weaks.I used those tablets.Still jerks in the body and vibrations in the brain are there. And unsteadyness is the main problem now.Now it was 2 and half years ,recently I met my doctor he added clonazepam tabs with tegretol .He tells that these are only due t0 anxiety not with medicines.Still jerks are there. So I am some what fear due to that I am not concentrating on my work. One more thing is that I met new nuerophysian, he told that these are happening due to medication and told that I will discontinue the medicine in three months(eeg came normal now).So I am some what confusing state because old doctor told that atleast I will be on med for three years.

I want some help sir, regarding these factors if you can spare some time for me sir.

1.May I be think that I had only one seizure irrespective of immediate medication after my first unconscious.
2.How many years I will be on medication. Can I discontinue or continue
3.Are these fealings disappear after stoping medication
4.Is there any guaranty that I had succefully eliminated seizures in the future.
6.I am bachelor now,am I going to marriage
7.If any help ful information is there regarding my discriptions. Please provide me sir.

Thank you for pay the patience to read this mail.
I am expecting your valueable suggestions.

Thank you sir
best regards

Well, nobody on here is a doctor, so we can't tell you if you'll get better, or when to stop taking medication. But we can tell you personal experience. Doesn't mean it will apply to you though.
It's good you're trying different medicines to find the right combination for you.
Hopefully the shaking stops, but be prepared to accept that maybe it just wont ever go away with medicine. For alot of people medicine just doesn't do anything. They just have to live with it or find other ways of coping. For others medicine changes lives and makes you seizure free forever as long as you're on it. I know you're discouraged, and you might not be able to help with medicine, but you haven't tried all the different ones out there. So it sounds like you still have alot of 'experimenting' with different ones, but either way time will tell. Good luck

p.S. Congrats on your marriage!

Be Patient...

With yourself above all. But keep in mind that most epilepsy meds take about 3 weeks before you can really tell what's going on... Good or bad. Ryann is my wife, my love, my support. I'm the one with epilepsy. So, hi everyone. I'm one of the lucky ones... I can feel my seizures coming and for the most part, i'm able to have a quasi-normal life.

I've found that meds affect me in different ways... And ways that are often not noted in the side-effects/drug descriptions. On a new med, the first 3 weeks are weird. For example, when I first started taking tegretol, I swear I was ocd for about 1 week... Everything had to be in right angles to everything else and the round shape irritated me. Weird huh? But, it passed and tegretol is now part of my daily meds. Over time, I adapted, my life and its stresses changed, and tegretol wasn't enough. Adding keppra, was a miracle drug for me. It's effects were immediate.

Stay patient with the meds and more over yourself until you find something that works. Also, don't be afraid to call your doc often. You don't have to wait for your next appointment and you'll find that neurologists are very accessible by phone.
