I'm 16 and about 3 years ago I suffered 3
seizures, all of which the hospital
couldn't explain and didn't look very far
into. My doctor told me that it was most
likely to be stress (a relative had just
died) and to return again if I had another
major seizure.
Since then I have had no major seizures,
but certain things (such as strobe lights
or playing computer games) cause me to go
very dizzy and make the room shake, I feel
myself tremble/shiver, and sometimes I
feel temporarily dazed or suddenly feel
like i've forgotten something and become
very confused. This mainly happens if I
am tired or ill anyway.
I never find these things serious enough
to go to the doctors, but I was wondering
if any other people on this forum have
suffered the same thing and know whether
it could be a form of epilepsy.
Please reply if you have any information
or advice.

Hi,
i have epilepsy and do find that strobe
lights bother me. Also when I watch
movies at the theatre sometimes the
magnituude of the size and movement of the
picture bother me and I have to close my
eyes to get my head back tp feeling
normal. That being said, anyone
experiencing those feelings don't
necessarily have epilepsy. Some people
just are sensitive. My advise to you is
to keep a journal of anything you feel or
percieve as being odd. It's not
something you need to write in everyday,
just a notebook to keep track of exactly
what you're experiencing. That way you
may be able to establish a pattern if
there is one, and it will allow you to be
able to explain exactly what is going on
to your doctor. I would also suggest
that you note the time of day when you
write, as well as what time you went to
bed, got up, ate etc. Often times these
things can influence how we respond to
certain stimuli.
Hope this helps.
Kathy
