A thesis statement in an essay is a
sentence that explicitly identifies the
purpose of the paper or previews its main
ideas. In other words it sums up what
your essay will be about. Hope this

A thesis statement is a sentence that you
put in your opening paragraph that sums up
everything you're going to talk about and
gives your position on your topic.
Someone should be able to read your thesis
statement and be able to predict
everything you're going to say. A
sample thesis statement would be something
like "if today's teens would consistently
use efficient methods of birth control,
the teen pregnancy rate in this country
would decline rapidly and teens would find
it much easier to graduate from high
school." etc, and more bs statistics that
you're going to use to scare teens out of
having sex.
