Hey everyone,
I was just prescribed yasmin, I
haven't actually started it yet, i'm
waiting on my period, cause i'm a
sunday-after- your period starter.
Anyways, I was just wondering if anyone
has tried yasmin, and if so, what have
been your experiences on it, like: weight
gain, loss of sex drive, headaches,
anything like that.... Also.... Likes
and dislikes about yasmin.... Please

I hope I am as lucky as you!... The side

loss but
knowing my luck I won't be one of the
girls who loses weight how long
have you been on yasmin?....

I was on yasmin for a year. It is good to
hear of other people's experiences on
certain type of bc but it affects everyone
differently. So something that had a
certain side effect on me may not on you.
I loved every single aspect of yasmin
except the amount of progestin in it.
Most bc's contain approx. 0.1 mg of the
progestin but because yasmin contains a
diuretic which helps any sodium retention
(ie water weight gain) it contains a
higher amount of the progestin 3.0 mg's.
This is great for any type of water weight
gain. The diuretic is great but in order
for it to have an effect they have to up
the mg's of the progestin hormone. This
for me wasn't good. It made me irritable.
I have tried many other types of bc but
haven't had irritability like I had on
yasmin. I since have gotten off and miss
the possitive effects of that pill but
don't miss the mental irritability. Good
luck!
