Hello, I am 35 and the wife of a wonderful
husband and mother of a wonderful son. My
son has some issue which I posted on here
but has nothing to do with my troubles.
I dont know what is wrong with me. By
reading these forums and browsing the
internet what I come up with is
depression. But I am un sure.
I am a stay at home mom. My son is in
school all day.
My husband is the most best man in the
world to me. I love him to death.
But about once a month for an entire week
which feels more like 3 weeks. I am
totally off the wall. One thing can set
me off and it can be anything and bam! Im
a mess for a whole week. I feel alone, I
cry horribly for no reason, I feel
insecure like im going to lose my husband.
My head feels wierd I get very confused
and dislusional is the best I can explain
it. Ill cry so hard ill start gaging like
im going to vomit.
I have gotten so use to it that ill call
my husband at work and tell him im having
another one of my spells again and ill
start crying just because I told him.
This also seems to happen to me right
after my monthly period time and then it
goes away and im ok again.
As I right this I am in fear of time for
my monthly to come again because I know
what I am instore for right after it.
I dont know what to do, I feel horrible I
dont want to feel this way anymore. My
husband is very supportive when I get like
this and my son is to they give me hugs
and tell me that everything is ok.
But why do I have to feel like this?

It does sound like depression to me.
Have you talked to your doctor about it?
I know a lot of women with wicked pms but
you said your problem starts after your
period. I would talk to your doctor if
you can.
Hope you feel better soon. Cindy

It could be the above or anxiety either
way you should check with the doctor,
maybe by getting a part time job might
help by getting out and being around
people and communicating with others and
if you don't need the money a good
volunteer part time job might help but
check with your Dr. First. Your
hormones could be out of wack.
Sincerely,
sandy

Hi zilta44, I agree with the other posters
that you need to get some professional
help. You might want to try cbt because
it will teach you how to counter the
thoughts that are upsetting you. I was in
a cbt group that has turned my life around
and I suffered from panic disorder as well
as depression and trust me you don't want
it to turn into that too. The two books
we used in my group are really good and I
would recommend them both highly: been
there, done that? Do this! By sam obitz
for anxiety and depression and mastery of
your anxiety and panic-third edition by
michelle craske and david barlow for panic
disorder.

35 is abit young for menopause but not
unheard of so you should see your dr &
get this & also your hormone levels
before & after your period checked
because it may be hormone imbalance that's
causing the depression like episodes
rather than actual depression as such.
I also agre that a p/t job or some
volunteer work could work wonders.
