Q: How Many Weeks?????

I dont understand how you know how many weeks pregnant you are? I have just found out that I am pregnat,i basically pinpoint when I think I conceived,it was either 6th,7th,8th may.So I thought that would make me 3weeks maybe 3 1/2 weeks gone.But I was looking on a site on the net that works out how far gone you are and it says you count from the day of your first period which was april 25th roughly which would make me about five weeks? But how can I be until you have actually conceived? Im so confused please help!!!!!!

Do the due date calculator with the first day of your last period. The baby is not as old as the due date says though. In your pregnancy you go 40 weeks but the baby is only 38 weeks.

I Still Confused

Im sorry im probably being really thick but I conceived in may so the baby was not made until may so how can it be two more weeks,im sorry for being dumb xx

Its not the due date I typed in? It was calculator to work out how many weeks gone you are thats why I dont understand how I can be two weeks more when I had a period end of april,conceived beginging may so the baby was not 'made til then which I thought would make me three weeks but this calculator makes me 5weeks???? Im sorry for being dumb but its all confusing me.

Your fetal gestation is only 3 weeks but they count from the first day of your last period. Does that make sense? Lol

They count 40 weeks from the first day of your last period to get a due date because most every woman knows when her last period began, but a lot don't have a clue as to when they conceived so this gives a more accurate estimate. Does it make sense now???
