Bc Pill Question, Pregnant?
Posted: 06-05-04 23:42pm

I started the bc pill (ortho-tri-cyclen) 2 weeks after my af. The paper that came with the pills said to wait a week, but I waited about 11 days before having sex. On the 11th day, (approx 3.4 weeks after my last af) I had sex, but I used a lot of spermicide, along with the withdrawl method.

I called the clinic to ask them about when I am "safe" on the pill, and they told me two weeks. So once I reached the two week mark, I began having sex. I am now on the 5th green (placebo) pill, and my period hasn't come. I had sex, and I had a spot of blood while wiping right after sex. I dunno if this was because of the sex, a precursor to my period, or implantation. I heard you can skip your period the first month, how likely is that?

How likely is it that I am pregnant, and when would a blood test be accurate? I took a home test the day I had the spot of blood (5th placebo pill) and it was negative. Any insight?

You can get a blood test and it will be accurate. You may just be missing your period because your body is ajusting to the pill. Good luck! =)

Most likely it is your body adjusting to the pill. If you were careful when having sex and did wait the correct amount of time before having sex, you are fine. If your period still hasn't come within a week try another hpt. If you are pregnant, your body will produce the hormone hcg and will not go undected in a hpt. If you are still unsure, simply get a blood test taken and that will be your true answer. Best of luck!

All know what that is most likely wan't implantation bleeding. That usually takes 6-10 days to sshow up, if it does at all. Chances are because of the new bc and combined with sex you bled simply because of the two combined. That happened to me a lot when I first started bc, but I was on depo.
