My First Doc. Appointment! Posted: 06-06-04 17:38pm
Tomorrow is my first doctors appointment.
Im scared. I hope I like my doctor. I
just really dont want to go. I feel
ashamed cause im so young and im pregnant.
I dont want people to look at me. I
really hope the doctor is nice and doesnt
make me feel stupid. I know im pregnant,
I took two tests, I havent had my period
and i've never missed a period before, and
I have morning sickness, but what if I
took a test and I wasnt? That would be
weird but I dont think it will happen.
But I have been spotting a lot so who
knows.

Haha I felt the same way, all paranoid
that maybe I wasnt preg at first. But
dont worry about ur age, im positive ur
doctor has had other young patients liek
you,, and doctors see all sorts of people,
they cant possibly judge. Have u asked
the doctor about the spotting? How longs
it been going on? Im sure everythings
prolly ok but thats kinda scary I dont
know why u would be spotting.. Anyhow,
let us know how it turns out! And dont
worry, the docs appt will be cool,
especially if u get to hear the heartbeat.
How far would u be again? The only part
I didnt like was the papsmear, but its
part of bein a girl*
Kari is right. Calm down and go. Things
will go great and your doc should not
judge you. I am sure you aren't his first
"teen" patient. Just be clam and work
with your doc and if you don't like
him/her you have the option to change
docs.
Love,
chanda

I was terrified when I first when in to
make sure I was really pregnant, I sat
there practically praying that the first
test was wrong and that I wasn't pregnant
and that everything would go back to
normal. And when the doctor told me it
was positive the only thing I could think
was “wow this guy must think I am a
promiscuous person or something”. I mean
how many 13 year olds do you think he had
come in and be pregnant you know? But he
didn’t judge me and neither did my ob-gyn,
they just gave me the best advice they
could. It is normal to be scared and want
to throw up and to shake, nothing we say
with ease that, but just know that
everyone goes through that- even married
women who plan their pregnancies- like my
sister! Let us know how it goes!
