When it crusts over at the edge of the
eyelid, is it o.K. To scrape it off with
a fingernail(after your hands have been
washed)?
Also, if it crusts over on a continual
basis, does this mean that the chalazion
will respond to hot compresses? After I
had a corticosteroid injection I was told
to go home and use warm compresses and
squeeze it myself. I tried this and it
did not work. If it is necessary to
undergo surgery, will it leave scarring on
the underneath side of the eyelid and
affect vision? I really want to avoid
this, if at all possible.
I've had this condition for about four
months, now. The chalazion is about the
size of a small pea.
Thank you for your response!
Sincerely,
kim sabatoni
