Ecserizing(sp) While Pregnant Posted: 09-18-03 17:19pm
Everyday I go to gym right after lunch,
normally we will do 2 laps (1/2 a mile)
just to warm up...And then we play sports
for the rest of the period which normally
have to do with lots of running around the
field.
Whenever we aren't doing that we are
"conditioning"....We run a lap and then 4
or 5 more which can total up to a mile and
a half and we have to do it in a certain
time, like 2-3 minutes per lap...Im not a
runner, I have severely bad asthma and
reeeally bad knees and im terribly out of
shape and I dont plan on getting into
shape anytime soon...After that we go to
the football field and do lunges for 10
yards and then turn around and do another
10 yards of lunges, and we have to get
down like frogs and then jump back
up....And we do that for about 30
times...And then do more lunges...And we
have to run up the stairs and the stone
bleachers(sp) at school...Im not friends
with stairs, I always fall...And then we
have to run a lap after each time we go up
and down those bleachers 5 times...There
are like 10-12 rows of them and they are
about a foot and a half high. Gym is
really difficult for me, and my teacher
tries to help, but she doesnt know any
boundaries for excersizing with pregnancy
and so I still have to do everything
except for participating in sports that
mean tackling or balls that could hit me
in the stomach. Any ideas or know
hows?

That is way, way, way too mch excercizing
for you!!! You need to go to your doctor
and get a note from him for your teacher
and tell them you are not allowed to
participate in all that! It puts alot of
strain on you and the baby. What you
should do is walk laps only!!! The whole
time everyone is doing lunges and sprints
or whatever it is you do. Walking is
healthy, active and helps labor. Thats
what you need to do. Tell your doc for
that note! Good luck!

Well considering you are a teen mother,
you can qualify for medi-cal because you
are pregnant and they will refer you to a
doctor. Thats what my sister did, she was
16 and had medi-cal and her own doctor and
didnt have to pay anything. Even if you
dont have ins. The sooner the better.
Just look into it and fill out the forms
and they should approve you.

Allright, I want it to be confirmed by
blood test or a few more urine tests
before I go to my dad about it, after that
I think I can go find out. They only do
u/s to find out how far along I am, right?
I don't like people messing around with
me down there...But I know its coming, but
the later the better. Best if it never
happened, but I want the best for my baby
and so im going to *shakes*

It depends how you want it. They can do
an ultrasound one to see how far long you
are and check the baby and things, once
down there and you can wait until 5 1/2
months for them do another check on the
belly. My sister wanted to be there every
month to make sure her baby was fine and
hear the heartbeat and stuff. You might
be shy and stuff but once you see it you
will want to be there more often too.
Take your test though! Good luck!
