What Linux Is For Chanda And Liz Posted: 06-12-04 21:30pm
It does exactly the same thing that
windows does. It has a file browser like
explorer, a net browser like internet
explorer, and all of its own programs.
But it is much better than windows. Linux
doesn't crash like windows does. And you
can leave it running forever without it
getting slow. You don't have to restart
after you install or uninstall a program.
Linux and _all_ of its software is
completely free. But don't let that make
you think it isn't good software. In my
opinion, many of the programs for linux
are better than the windows versions.
Yeah it's much slicker. You can
customize everything, more so than
windows. There are skins and stuff.
They also have transparent windows and
menus that you can use instead of the
regular ones. Its awesome!

Liz - yeah you have it everywhere. Every
computer has a linux version that is
compatible with it. You can even get
linux for macintosh's. Linux is just a
software package that you download and
install over windows.
