Concerns 4 My Best Friend Posted: 06-12-04 22:00pm
About three and a half months ago, my best
friend cheryl found out she was pregnant.
She's only 15. She has changed so much in
just so little time, not only physically
but also emotionally. Our regular crowd
is now split. Most of her friends don't
really hang out with her anymore, and I
think they're ashamed of her, which is why
cheryl no longer goes to school. As for
myself, I love her and care for her like a
sister and I want to be there for her
always. I've taken the responsibility to
come over to see her everyday after school
and make sure she has everything she
needs. Her mother (who's divorced.
Cheryl's dad lives in arizona) has a small
job and struggles to support them both.
Cheryl's thinking of keeping the baby, but
her mother wants her to put that baby up
for adoption.
Cheryl's now almost always depressed, and
although she doesn't drink or do drugs,
she's always talking about killing
herself. What's worse is that she's very
distant with me and has often told me to
leave her alone. I really, really want to
be there for her and help her physically,
financially, any way that I can, but she
keeps pushing me farther away.
What do I do?
