I've always been told to wait
approximately three months to start trying
again. Is this your first pregnancy? I'm
not saying a miscarriage is for the best
but with my second child I started
bleeding heavily around 10 weeks. I did
the bedrest thing for a week and all
seemed fine. At 20 weeks I found out he
had severe birth defects. The doctors
told me that in some pregnancies that end
in early miscarriage the odds are good
that the reason is a birth defect. Their
presumption was that my body tried to
abort early on but wasn't successful
(because he was a tough little boy I
always say).
Let your body rest a few months and let
nature (and sex life) take it's course. I
would also consult with an obgyn. They
not only deal with pregnant women but
women who are trying to concieve as well.
They will help you prepare your body for
an up-coming pregnancy such as folic acid,
pre-natal vitamins (always good when
planning a pregnancy), general health (i
found out I had no immunity for german
measles while pregnant and couldn't be
near anyone who had so much as the chicken
pox) plus they can help you predict
ovulation schedules and advise you on when
the best time to have sex would be and how
often you shouod have sex. Best of luck
and keep us informed. I look forward to
hearing your wonderful news.
But take it from a mother of three...
Cherish your non-mother time. Once a
mother; always a mother. The job never
ends. Best of luck!!!
