I'm a 29 year old male from nyc. About
three years ago, I started sneezing
continually right after I got out of the
shower. It was every time, without fail,
every day. It would last a few minutes,
but over time, the sneezing spells lasted
longer, and I started with a runny nose.
I changed soaps, shampoos, nothing worked.
I changed tissue brands. It still
happened. The strange thing is, it only
happened in my apartment.
When I moved to a different apartment in
manhattan, it still happened. A year
after these post-shower sneezing/nose
running episodes started, I began to
occassionally get them during the day,
even if I hadn't showered yet.
Sometimes they would last for hours. I
moved to another apartment in nj recently,
and they still occur after showers, but
not all the time anymore. Also, there
are days that I sneeze and my nose runs
all day to the point I have to plug it
with tissues. Needless to say it is very
annoying and physically and mentally
draining. I do have a cat, but I had the
cat for a year before this started
happening.
I would say 95% of the time this occures,
its at my own apartment. I never have
had the dry itchy eyes, itchy throat,
bloodshot eyes, rashes, just sneezing and
a very clear watery nasal drip.
Before 3 years ago, I rarely sneezed, and
I never have been allergic to anything as
far as I know. If it is my cat, why
doesnt it happen every day? I play with
her everyday, and she always follows me
around. If it's pollen, how come I dont
sneeze or have a runny nose when i'm
working in an office 3 blocks from my
apartment? I'm convinced it's something
in my apartment. If anyone can help me
or give me some advice on how to make this
go away, please PM me, I will try to check
as often as I can. Thank you so much!

If you think it may be an allergy, see an
allergy specialist. They do a host of
tests and can start to narrow the
possibilities down.
