Then you should complain to the edd, because that is discrimination and it is not allowed. You need proof that he tried to fire you because you were preg and I think he could be penalized or something can happen to him. Legally you are allowed maternity leave. Without being fired. You should look into it.

Illegal!!!
Yes not only is that not fair, but it is illegal. This would be a hard thing to prove however because your boss will simply say that he fired you for something else. So if he does try to fire you get a written statement of why. Maybe you could even go a little undercover and try to get it recorded. But tread lightly, because this kind of thing happens a lot and unfortunately the big man wins most of the time.

I Got a Lawyer
I work for a pretty large mortgage company, so that really don't need a lawsuit on there file right now. I recorded our conversation yesterday. He was telling me that he can't have a pregnant women in his office, because he doesnt want to go through all the caca that I will have to put him through. We had a meeting with hr and that told him that he could not let me go for no reason, so now I feel like I have to watch my ass. I am a good loan officer, so I have nothing to worry about, but it's this unnessary stress that he is adding that I dont really need right now. Crying or Very sad

Good job for recording it!! There is no way he can fire you for that reason! Dont stress about it and continue your work you do. You let him know that you can file workers comp for the stress hes putting on you, on top of being pregnant and you dont need it. I used to work for work comp attorneys and they always told me about cases of people off because of stress and it is allowed and owners need to pay for it. You can go to your lawyer again and say how they are stressing you. You have a great case going! You have your tape, your lawyer, and they are worrying now, trust me. But dont stress it. Because if they put you on work comp, then you will be able to be home and get your paychecks too. Let us know how it goes ok!

That is a total violation of your rights. He/she can't fire you on the basis that you are pregnant. My bf's sister went through that. She successfully charged her boss in court. Your employer cannot and I repeat cannot discriminate against you because you're pregnant. Id ask the police about it or even a lawyer....
