What Else Could Go Wrong With My Heart???? Posted: 06-23-04 18:51pm
If you though you hit bottom....You aint.
I retired from the military after 21 years
of service. Before retiring I have a
stress test and a eco. Done wish didn't
show nothing wrong with my heart. A
couple of months later I was diagnosed
with epilepsy and they turn into grand mal
seizures. I been under medication for the
last 5 years. Last christmas jan,04 I had
my first heart attack. The doctors
performed a catheterization and 3 stent
implants on my rca. My lca was
clear...But they found an anomality with
my lca. My lca arise anomalous from the
right coronary sinus and coursed between
my pa & aortic. After the
catheterization I was having short
stabbing chest pain that last 1 or 2
seconds. I have stress test, perfusion
test, ekg, eeg, blood test, echo test and
other than the damage caused by my mi
everything is ok. My pain comes at any
time, even at rest. At night I get this
numbness on my arms and my index fingers
and the pain in my chest, left side of my
neck or right side of my chest. Sometimes
I feel like a burning sensation in the
center of my chest. The last thing that
happened is that last night I was
listening to my heart and I noticed it
skip a beat. I went to the er and I got
occasional premature ventricular and
atrial complexes??? The doctor told me to
see my cardiologist. I saw him and he
told me " you are obsess with your heart".
I feel like i'm doomed. I understand if
I never have a heart attack but I did.
Could it be my body telling me hey! Pay
attention...There is something wrong
here!!! I don't know what to do. When
the pain comes I feel like if I was going
to die. I didn't have any problem with my
heart until I got my mi. So I can't blame
the anomality for the pain. If I need
surgery... How it is done. Can it be
done off-pump?? Where?? Where I can find
a good doctor with experience in this type
of cases. Any help and comment will be
greatly apperciated.

If you're willing to travel, I highly
recommend a heart surgeon by the name of
Dr. Trento at cedars - sinai in
california or maybe he could recommend
someone in your state. He performed a
triple bypass on my husband. My husband
had a massive heart attack almost 2 years
ago - he needed a pacemaker and a
defibrillator. He had 2 angioplasties
before having the triple bypass. The
angioplasties were done by an excllent
cardiologist by the name of Dr. Neil
buchbinder also at cedars- sinai. I

Sorry about your probs man. From my
unknowing of the heart that much I can
only say 1 thing, it seems that you are
afraid to die (normal) and u dont want to
die yet, and u are making every precaution
to staying alive (which is good as well)
but just check with the doctor every so
often, mayb your having anxiety at the
same time? And trust me, thinking about
it, will most definatly make it worse, but
if u feel its really seriouse u may need
to call 911, just to be safe, definatly
switch doctors to get differnt opinions,
not everyone is right of course.
Hope you get well, and live a long, happy
life til the age of 110!!!

A lot could go wrong. Ive had a quadruple
bypass, a new mitral valve and 9 stents.
I have 2 blocked carotid arteries and
severe peripheal artery disease, get
checked before it goes too far.
I cant even walk through my house without
pain, my nitro never leaves my sight.
My chances are so poor, you wouldt
believe.
If you are that bad get to a good
cardiologist.
