I Feel Guilty.... Posted: 06-30-04 19:46pm
Ok sorry its going to be a little long..
But I feel really guilty. To make a long
story short, me and my dad have had a
crappy relationship. We never have got
along, we always fight, we never ever talk
or communicate, and hes always been really
grouchy. I mean I hadnt had a
conversation, a real one, with him in
years and we live inthe same house. And
in my family, u dont say I love you.. Or
get sentimental or say sorry (especially
with my dad) but lately hes been a little
better and understanding.. Well today,
after I got all upset for basically no
reason, me and my dad got in a little
argument. .I mean it was soo small, I
normally never woulda let it get to me..
But it did.. So I went outside and cried
for an hour...Well my dad came out looking
for me and actually sat down and talked to
me! I mean I was stunned.. And he talked
to me all nice. .And he put his arm
around me!?! And he apoligized! He said
he was sorry and he knows im going through
alot and that he thinks its my pregnancy
emotions and that he was sorry to add to
them because I dont need that right now.
I mean if u knew my dad.... Gosh hes sooo
not like that! Well he was just so nice
to me and made me feel better. .Well now
I feel awful.. Just terrible.. Because I
didnt say thank you.. Didnt give him a
hug....But it was so weird for me I was
speechless and didnt know what to do.
.And still dont! I cant explain it. But
I feel terrible now becaus ei dont know if
he knew how much it ment to me...

I bet he knew how much it was by u
stopping your crying. But if another time
u get upset and hes there, tell him how
much better it makes u feel to know he's
there to help and understand u. My dads
always the "rough guy no tears" type of
thing so lately when he consoles me... It
still gets to me cuz hes not the type to
tell me "its okay" or "im here for u" but
I let him know once that I really
appreciate dit and since then, he'll do
little things like go downstairs and get
me a drink or open the door for me. Once
u let him know, he's bound to do it more,
so next time just tell him exactly how u
feel

Maybe he's looking for a way in to your
life. It's never too late to get
aquanted with your dad, even tough the two
of you argue i'm sure that there is still
alot of love there. If you see him
trying, make an effort and try yourself.
You should try and talk to your dad one
day about something to see how he responds
to you. I do hope things get better,
theres nothing better than having your
families full support. Good luck.

Tomm when you get up and its been a little
while go give him a hug and say thanks
dad.
He will be like wa and then he will smile.
I just know it. Even though you guys
dont hug and all that you never know you
could have a thing started now. Maybe
when the baby gets here he will be like a
brand new guy. My papa was the same way
with my mom and her sister and brother but
when I was born he completely changed
around I mean like a double 360. Good
luck and don't feel guilty hun, he knows
you love him.
