He Used a Condom(inappropriately), Could I Be Pregnant?
Posted: 07-04-04 16:51pm

Greetings everyone,

i am curious to know if I might be pregnant. I had sexual intercourse 3 1/2 weeks ago, we did use protection. But I noticed he pulled out of me, and rolled the condom down and put it back inside of me. He didnt pull out immediately after ejaculation. (wondering did he do this the other times we had sex) Embarassed

i didnt really think any of it, but that image keeps coming into my mind. I did vomit a couple of days later after I drank a margarita. Also have been experiencing some nausea.

I went to have a pap smear done last week. My gyn had a hard time opening my cervix. It was really high, and it basically wasnt budging. She finally was able to get it open after 4 mins.

The next day, I noticed a brownish-mucus type discharge. I thought I was about to come on my period, but I didnt.

My stomache is bloated, im having a lot of painful gas. I cant get comfortable without my back aching. My breasts feel heavier and my nipples are sore. And I have been to the bathroom, (this morning, 6 times, in a hour)

my child is 8 years old, so its been a while since ive been pregnant. And it was my only pregnancy. So, im kinda out of the loop, as far as symptoms goes.

My period is due 11th of this month. If I am pregnant, I am 4 weeks.
What do you all think? Im kinda upset with myself, because should have asked for a pregnancy test, before the pap smear.
Is there any indication, the papsmear, could cause a miscarriage? Confused

I do agree with kari it sounds as if you are. If you don't get your period by the 11th take a pregnancy test. Take one now if you feel as if you want to know now.

fyi if your period is due the 11th of this month, then there is no way you could right now be 4 weeks pregnant (it would be closer to 2 weeks on the expected day of period starting). See you roughly ovulate 2 weeks before the first day of your period. Not on the elusive "day 14" or a number of days after your period. You have to count backwards. If you were in fact 4 weeks pregnant, your period should have been due about 1.5 weeks ago. If you are in fact due, and your period does come, on july 11th, then you ovulated probably about june 28th. Making a conception date right around the same time as ovulation.

I'm also wondering why your gyn was opening your cervix. For pap smears, the doctor just takes a sample of cells from the cervix, to open it would be painful enough to need some kind of painkilling injection, if not sedation (the cervix opening is pretty intense in the pain department). Opening your cervix could be hazardous, but opening your cervix isn't what happens in a pap smear.

Perhaps she was just having trouble finding it? Also a cervix of a pregnant woman appears bluish - and I would hope if your doctor saw your cervix appearing blue that she would at least suggest that you were pregnant instead of saying nothing at all.

Sometimes pap smears do cause bleeding/spotting a bit, that could be what you experienced.

Keep your eyes on your symptoms and your period. I think you're probably ok in as far as not being pregnant.

Also pay attention to what your partner is doing with the condoms - if he does that continually then you are not protected and he is putting you in harms way. I suggest an in depth talk with him.

Good luck

Thanks everyone for their replies.

Actually, ive basically have read about every possibility, irritation from papsmear, was one of main concern.

This could be another month of pms for me..So who knows..I will count down the days..And see what is to come..

Teeny-thank you for your response, after I posted this, 4 weeks couldnt be right. Im not saying I am pregnant as of yet..So this is very hopeful to me.

As far as opening of cervix- that's what she told me she was doing, and that it wasnt opening..So if it was something of concern, I believe she would have told me..

Ill keep ya posted
