Mysterious Head Pains
Posted: 07-06-04 14:57pm

I'm 20 years old and have never had a head ache until this summer. For the past two months I have been experiencing severe head pains that I am assuming are headaches. They are in the bottom back of my head and move forward to the sides of my head. I went to the doctor and he gave me ibuprofen 600 mg and said that they were not migraines. I have a feeling that there is much more to this than just head pains. Does anyone have any idea what this could be? The doctor might send me for a cat-scan. Does anyone think that this idea is good, bad or otherwise? I woudl appreciate any post that would lead me in the right direction.

-i've also experienced dizzyness and extreme fatigue with these head pains. I've also had no appetite whatsoever.

Has anything else changed in your life - food, study/work, where you live, exercise anything????

I would have an mri & also blood tests & get your eyes tested - it is best to rule out things sooner rather than later.

Try & think when these headaches occur - after any food, exercise, being somewhere or doing something even after being with or thinking you'll be with a person. Allergies can cause truly severe headaches & allergies can develop out of the blue at any age. Stress can also cause them. Sometimes too we don't realize we're stressed because it comes out as a physical symptom instead of as a feeling of worry/fear etc.
