Enzymes

Hi I was just reading some stuff on enzymes which all sounded pretty convincing until found the link to purchase some drug they where selling. I was just wondering what the real deal is with enzymes and how beneficial it would be to invest in enzyme supplements and what a good brand is.

Hi. Enzymes are an essential part of life as they speed up chemical reactions within the body and also help to protect from disease etc.

In my opinion you will not need to supplement enzymes because it is very easy to get them from food. The best foods to eat is raw fruits and vegetables. Raw because the heat used during cooking tends to kill the enzymes, but if you must cook them, slow cook them on low heats to get most benefit.

There are 4 different types of enzymes, food enzymes, metabolic enzymes, digestive enzymes, and antioxidant enzymes. All are great for the body and all can be easily taken from raw fruits and vegetables as well as other foods (but these are the best sources).

While it is true that enzymes are essential to food digestion and also true that enzyme production reduces with age, I believe eating enzyme tablets is not a good idea.
Like the others suggest, I would re-inforce more raw foods to be eaten. Fresh fruits and vegetables is the key. Don't let a day go by where you only eat processed/cooked food. You will improve your quality of life with raw foods.
But also, I wouldnt go out and only eat raw foods as some suggest. A balance of raw and cooked is important.

What Are the Best Enzymes to Take?
Posted: 07-20-04 07:51am

I have been looking for a good enzyme and am not sure what is the "best" or most effective ones to take. What factors affect absorbtion and use in the body? Do they go bad after extended periods of time, are their capsules vs. Liquids? I have found some enzymes on a site I have purchase from, http://www.Supplementsadvisor. Com and search for enzymes. There are a few brands which are similar at th local gnc. I have heard a compay called global healthtrax has some too but I think they are an mlm marketing scheme but not sure. Could someone please refer a good brand/type of enzyme for everyone.

Thanks,

First, why do you feel you need an enzyme supplement?
