Thoughts On Internet Dating Sites Posted: 07-07-04 20:21pm
Hey all, I have been single for awhile now
and think im pretty much ready to get back
into the dating scene. So, I was thinking
about going to one of the dating sites on
the net. Just had a few
questions....Could anyone give me some
insight on this subject. Has anyone had
any luck in going this route? And also,
what are some of the better sites to check
out? Thanks, j

Met My Other Half Online Posted: 07-08-04 17:38pm
Almost 2 years ago, being fed up with men,
I signed on to america online and through
a search of their member directory, I
found an interesting profile. I sent him
an instant message and the rest is
history.
I've never tried any of the webpages (like
eharmony) but i'm sure they are just as
good. You just have to be careful for
phonies and weirdos and always be
cautious.
Also interesting is that I just attended a
wedding where the couple met 5 years ago
on america online. So yay aol!
good luck & be careful!

Hey jackpot
the most important thing to remember about
online datin is that you get out of it
what you put into it. If you just do the
very basics in terms of your profile and
then just sit back and wait, then its very
unlikely that you will find a partner.
The best thing you can do is be honest in
who you are and what you're looking for
and definately place a photo with your
profile.
As for where to go thats really up to you,
but i'd recommend joining up at a few
different places to see what each has to
offer before you decide on which one to
spend your money on in sign-up fees. As
iloveny said america online is a good
option as is friendfinder. I just found a
site http://www.Icupids.Com that has just
opened and is offering free memberships
while they are developing a membership
base so you might want to check that
out.
Best of luck

My sister in law met and married her
husband from match.Com. I think the
online dating thing can be good, but
dangerous too. I know it is easier said
than done, but I think it is best if you
can have a friend set you up. Difinately
stay away from the bar scene. Depending
where you are from can make a big
difference too.

Ive met alot of people off line. But ive
never really met anyone I really connected
with. There is a big difference between
talking to someone online and then talking
in real life I came to realize. And also
some people dont end up looking like their
pictures or being really creepy. But its
not completly bad. Theres a free dating
site called www.Plentyoffish.Com.
Theres also www.Myspace.Com which
isnt really a dating site, more like a
friend site, but alot of people use it for
dating. I would suggest if you want to
online date to talk to them for a while
and then maybe talk to them on the phone
before you meet. I gave up on it and as
soon as I did me and my ex bf ended up
getting back together. Lol.

I Met My Wife On the Internet Posted: 07-17-05 23:57pm
I met my wife on the internet and we've
been married for 8+ years now. I'm still
in love with her.
But having said all that, it wasn't easy.
You have to meet many people before you
find the right one.
I met my current girlfriend through this
site and we've had a good relationship.
Once again, good luck

I met my last ex on a site called "mad
cupid" and that didn't work out at all....
Bad choice on my part. I think i'll just
stick to the more traditional way of
dating. I've been with my current bf for
5 months now and didn't meet him on an
internet site, so i'm happy with that.
Not that i'm saying it's bad. It's just
not for me. Good luck to all of u looking
though :)
