Tibia-patella Fracture

My son just received a tibia-patella fracture. It was repaired using 2 screws. He broke it playing ball. Should this heal 100% or will he always have problems.

Several months ago I had a knee surgery - problems with the patella. If the surgery was done successfully, I don't see any reason why your child should experience any problems. The 1st step is to find a good doctor. The 2nd is to find a good therapist who will do therapy and rehabilitation with your child. I don't know how serious the injury was and thus how long the rehabilitation in your child's case will last, but make sure that your son follows his doctor's and therapist's orders. That is of utmost importance. If he lacks motivation, be there for him and even exercise with him if necessary.

Good luck!
