Tired When Waking Up And Throughout the Day Posted: 07-12-04 17:40pm
I'm 18, male, and in the past, I use to go
to bed at around 3-4am and got up at
12-1pm and never had any problems. But
now i'm trying to go to bed earlier at
around 1-2am, but when I get up at around
10-11am, I am still tired and I have to
take a nap in the afternoon to get through
the day. What's wrong with me ?

I used to have to switch shifts at the
factory that I worked at about every 3
months. To get my body to accept the new
schedual I found that if I did an all
nighter and then worked the new shift it
would make me tired enough to sleep well
that night. It was then just a matter of
prying myself out of bed for the first
three or four days and I would be adjusted
to the new schedual.
All in all you dont seem to be doing any
drastic time changes so give it a week or
so and see if your body adjusts. But
stick to your new schedual. Hope this
helps. Smitty

I agree - so long as this hasn't been
going on for too long - although it will
continue to happen if you keep taking the
naps - try the allnighter or very long day
to tire yourself & then things should
be fine after a few days.
If you try this & things aren't ok,
consider what you're eating & when -
sometimes if you change your sleep pattern
but not your eating pattern your body
can't properly adjust. Also are you
really sleeping well - consider noises
that may be affecting your sleep &
also sleep disorders - which can also be
caused by weight gain, ceasing exercise,
environmental changes, sinus problems etc.
