please
help.. What seemed to be a one time thing
has turned into routine. Whenever I eat
anything bad I think about throwing up the
whole time I am eating. I know I will not
lose weight by throwing up.. But I can't
stand the food in my stomach. I am too
smart and too old to be doing this.. But
I can't seem to control this sick
behavior. Now I am doing this at work as
well. I am afraid someone will find out
and my chest is starting to hurt. How can
I face anyone to get help. I should just
be able to quit this.

Hey you should definitely should see a
doctor. I know that might be hard but
eating disorders can strike any person of
any age so there is nothing to be ashamed
of. You have a disease and like most
disease its going to take medical help to
cure you. Not only are you starving
yourself pretty much you are damaging the
lining of your stomach and throat! So
please see a doctor before its to late!
Hope it goes well!

Yes you really need to go see a doctor.
You have nothing to be ashamed of with the
way the media is these days everyone wants
to have that perfect body and most people
would do anything to get it. I myself am
over weight and I hate it, but you know if
people cant like me for who I am then id
rather not know them anyways. Everyone
has problems and everyone is embarrassed
but the truth is we all need to learn to
open up so we help each other and get
better. Please go see a doctor because
you are doing so much damage to your body.
Good luck! I hope you get better!

your
message broke my heart. I also struggled
with food and feeling full and hating my
body for over ten years. It has nothing
to do with age or intelligence. It is
caused by many psychological &
physical factors. First & most
important of all, don't beat yourself up
for this! That will only perpetuate your
self-destructive behavior.
The only thing that helped me, besides
counseling to get at the root of my
emotoins, was eating 3 healthy low-fat
meals every day. I found that once I ate
enough, and cut out the junk (which after
a time I didn't even miss at all), I lost
my cravings to binge and, of course,
purge.
I'm not over this yet by a long shot, but
I haven't thrown up in nearly a year. You
can do it, but it takes alot of work and
you cant "just stop". Ask for help ~ get
a good threrapist & nutritionist who
know about eating disorders. Hang in
there!
