car accident , chronic back pain & change in personality Posted: 07-20-03 00:42am
My son was in a car accident about 2
months ago, at the time they thought it
was only a mild concussion and whiplash.
Since this incident my son has had tomove
back in with me and suffers from chronic
back pain. I have also noticed a change in
his personality. I have sought an
attorney,to help to medical, pain, and
possibly long term disability. My question
is; besides narcotic pain medication[
which I am worried he is getting addicted
to] does anyone have any suggestions on
how to relieve his pain? Thank you
Wende

I was in 2 car accidents within 5 days
several years ago, but did not really feel
the long term affects until about 2 years
ago. I went to a chiropractor, but they
did not seem to help me. I turned to an
orthopedic doctor and they did a MRI on my
back to make sure nothing was injured.
Thank the Good Lord nothing was except for
the fact that my spine was straight
instead of curved like the normal spine
should be. He sent me to physical therapy
for 6 weeks and I feel so much better.
I also drink something that a friend of
mine was taking after her car wreck. She
had neck surgery to repair a disc and was
flat of her back for months. She and her
husband came across this and started
selling it because it made her get up and
out of bed since she had NO pain. It is
called OPC. It is a powder formula that
you mix with water and it removes the
toxins in your body which is what causes
pain. It has nothing but natural
ingredients in it. It also helped her
anemia and her husband's gout. It is
wonderful! Me and my husband now sell it.
Hope this helps.

I was also involved in a car accident
recently, but not as severe as your sons
sounds. My massage therapist im seeing
told me that accupuncture is really good
and helps people with severe pain. So
maybe that could be an option to think
about! Good luck!

I just wanted to say, I totally agree. I
would never have believed it nor would I
have agreed, but I went through
chemotherapy and subsequent remission, but
many residuals from treatment and
marijuana really did ease the pain, give
me an appetite, which basically saved my
life during treatment, and helped me sleep
at night. I don't know what state you
are in, but in my state you can get a
prescription, which is what I did. Plus
the other, .
Shortee, thanks for speaking up! I'm
53 years old and I would never have
believed I would one day be posting this.

I am so sorry to hear about your son's car
wreck. It must have been devastating. I
suggest giving him his pain killers every
other day, or cut the dosage in half to
keep him for building a tolerance or
becoming addicted.
I also suggest accupuncture. I have been
taking accupuncture for a year now for a
hip problem. It feels so much better now.
Also, talk to your doctor about your son.
See what the physician has to say about
the addiction/possible alternative
medication.
Best of luck with everything,
