I've been having rapid heart along with
low blood pressure. I too have been
worried about embolism but they just
poo-poo it. Feels like lungs are full
when I lay down or wake up in the morning.
Takes awhile to get it feeling
better. They (dr's) all say the same thing.
There shouldn't be any pain or
problems.... No answers! Makes me wonder
why there is no further investagations
into problems after gallbladder removal.
I was with no health problems before my
surgery and now feel like my body id
shutting down or falling apart. I'm just
tired of no dr giving it a harder thought.
There must be some-one out there that
wants to help! I can't imagine years of
this!
I know how you all feel I go through it
everyday I had my gallbladder taken out in
95, its been 11 years and I still have
problem and in pain some days are worse
then other I just take pain pills and
suffer through it.
I am glad there is other people out there
that is going through what I have and
still going through.

Can you eat fatty foods after this surgery

i just had my gallbladder out two days ago

consists of fruits, veggies, whole grains

appetite is not the same I don't have the

temporary. Good luck.

Hi there,
i've just read through the past 5 pages,
and i'm shocked at how many people are
having similar problems to me.
I had mt gallblader removed in march 205
and since then i've had nothin but
problems. My heart rate has been madly
high ever since having the op,i fiind
myself in hopital almost every week having
checks for an embolism. More recently, I
am struggling to breath and at night I
really struggle to swallow. I don't know
whats going on, I seem to have tonsilitis
every other week and I can't cope with it.
Does anyone else suffer with tonislitis
and ulceration of the mouth since having
their gallbladder removed? Is ibs a
common problem after surgery? Chron's
diseas??
Help!!!

I just got back from the clinic yesterday
cause i'm feeling just so awful and just
can't sit @ home waiting for something to
be done and last week I had my thyroid
tested with the free t4 test which I
thought nothing of, but it has come back
with the levels showing high. I asked how
that could cause problems and appearently
it causes digestive problems along with
heart rate changes and the feeling like
you can't breath or the throat feels dry
or something's squeezing it. It causes
high or low blood pressure (mine has been
in the 90 over 50 range) causes depression
and mood swings, along with anxiety.
Although i'm not sure how I feel as to if
this is helpful or the answer to some of
my sickness I thought I would @ least pass
it on just in case anyone else has not had
it tested. Let me know! Sorry bout
spelling it changes when I submit for some
reason even after spell check!

Boobookitty,
you sound like me 9 years ago. It felt
like someone had their hands around my
throat or I swallowed a ball. I had major
mood swings, one minute I would be happy,
the next emotional and the next ready to
rip someone's head off. My hands shook, I
slept for about 1 hour every night and my
heart palpitated so hard I thought is was
going to pop out of my chest. Your
thyroid affects your entire body and some
strange things happen. Plus people think
you're crazy, including yourself after a
while. I was diagnosed with
hyperthyroidism. I took medication but
eventually it was slowed down with
radiactive medicine and is now hypo, which
is easier to control. I hope you get
yours under control soon. I know what I
went through and it was not something I
would wish on anyone. Good luck to you
and let me know how you make out.

This has just been the most awful year or
more I have ever been through!
Actually my levels are low....The whole up
is low and low is high thing takes some
getting to understand! I'm 30 weeks
pregnant now and all I can say is they
won't treat me and basically I feel like I
can't stand my own skin and just want this
baby out so I can start some type of
treatment.
I feel so sick both physically and
emotionally that all I do is sleep or
cry.
The crazy thing is the worst besides the
physical changes. I have always been okay
in both areas and this has taken me to a
whole place I never thought I would be the
victim of. Seriously in a matter of just
a few weeks my whole life changed and
that's no joke! It is maddening and
besides trying to explain it to my family,
the doctors don't seem any better! I have
yet to see anyone who is compassionate
about my symptoms or how I feel. I am so
glad that there is this to go to and I
wish I could just sit in a room with those
who are in the same situation cause it's a
very isolated place to be when those
around me are so healthy! I'm so sick of
hearing people say things like "mind over
matter" or "you can control it, not it
you"
aaarrggghhh! Yeah, I woke up one day and
decided that my happy, healthy, great life
wasn't working and i'd rather be visiting
doctors every other day and wanted to
drive myself crazy with horrible imaginary
symptoms plus I wanted all those around me
to deal with up and down moods cause being
okay wasn't in for fashion that year!
Please! If any of you knew me this would
be like mary poppins deciding to become a
crazed party monster. (i wanted to say
something different but decided it might
offend someone so I won't) my point is, I
never thought or asked for this and you're
right about just how bad it is that no one
should have to go through it. Sorry to
ramble and thank you for the support ") I
think about all of you out there and hope
there's some good happenening!

Well, first congratulations on your
pregnancy. Just the hormonal changes from
that is traumatic enough without having a
thyroid problem on top of it. As far as
the crazy part, I can relate to that as
well. I had a fight with my landlord once
and went after him verbally 3 times.
Emotional rollercoaster is putting it
mildly. It was more Dr. Jekyll and mr.
Hyde. The thyroid controls your whole
body, so yes you will feel emotionally and
physically sick. I fell asleep every
chance I got, mostly because I couldn't
sleep long. I just needed enough to
rejuvenate myself and I was off. As for
the people who say 'mind over matter' and
'you can control it' have never been
through it. No, you can't control it. It
controls you. Talk to you doctors and see
if they can do something for you until the
baby comes along. Have you seen an
endocrinolgist? If not, ask to see one.
They will know what to do for you. Good
luck and keep me posted.

Sweet as sugar........If your surgery is
done laproscopically, which mine was, the
scars are hardly visible. I had my
surgery june 14 and was wearing a bikini
all summer!

all I do, i'm a secretary for a school.
It doesn't bother me to much if i'm up and
about. Has anyone had this problem?

I Had Mine Out 1 Days Ago Posted: 11-28-06 07:09am
I had ben in and out of hospital since
septenber five admissions for a week at a
time and when I had my surgery I felt so
ill, was on oxygen and had to be
catheterised twice it was just a
nightmare, I knew the pain was too severe
to be normal so had an emergency scan
which revealed a fluid collection where my
gallbladder had been.
I cam home last wed and today is the first
day I have not woken up in agony!

Hi there,

was busy with two toddlers! However.
I have decided to pull myself into gear
because the pain that you feel when you
have eaten something really fatty eg.
Chips or cake or what not, I think should
kick you into gear but you really have to
get your head around the concept of what a
gall bladder does and when you don't have
one....What does this mean! I have a
reason to live and be healthy....I have a
responsibility to be healthy and not in
pain. So I have decided to kick myself
back into gear and be more tougher on
myself about what I put into my mouth.
The difficulty is when the kids are
sleeping and you want to vege out for the
hour that they are sleeping.
Please god, help
me!!!!
I just read your entry and let me tell
you, you inspired me to do my best too-
If you can do the hardest job on earth,
raise two toddlers in one house then I bet
you will find a way to change your habits
to benifit you and your children. I have a
2 year old myself, I am 2 and a half weeks
out of surgery and am already finding
temptations to pick up my old habits. I
figured reading some real people's
expierences might kick my butt in gear
too, I hope this will help me, you have
helped me. -Hope I helped you just a tiny
bit. Ill tell you what i have been telling
myself for the past 2 years (the amount
of time i actually battled with atacks,
until finally having it removed). You owe
it to yourself to give you all you can so
you can give them all you can(ur kids).
For your family, for your friends, for
YOU. Let you body be your temple, and the
glory of a healthy life and body will pay
off in how you will feel inside and out. I
will re-read this and try to take my own
advice. lol
Much, much luck to you. And please GOD
help me too!

I devleoped gallstone during my third

as healthy as you can. I just changed my

I was pregnant 14 yrs ago w/ my daughter
I got galstones, they gave me medication
to dislove them....
then 5 yrs ago I had my son...no problems
now 14yrs after the birth of my daughter I
have developed
acid reflux diease...after research
believe is due from the bad gallbladder
no one ever told me to have it taken out
after birth of my daughter.
I should have. I would have never
developed acid reflux.
I had my gall bladder out on 4/26/07,
doing good. Eat good food,
love bbq chips,I can not stay away from
sweet tea! I would do the
pregancy, then after ward and after breast
feeding have it taken out.
Do not wait for so many years as I. You
develop more problems
and you will just feel better.
Good luck.

You probably would not split your
incisions, but I would give yourself at
the very least 6 weeks to recover from
having your innerds fiddled with before
you contemplate pregnancy. You really
need to let yourself recover from having
the surgery before you put more stress on
your body.

I had my gallbladder removed back in March
of this year and I'm so thankful that I
did it. The only bad thing(if you would
even consider it as that) that came out of
it was the reaction I had to the
anesthesia. I got very nauseous and dizzy
from it. My surgery was done
laproscopically so I was back home that
same day.
As for having the gallbladder removed, I
had no problems whatsoever. I didn't even
need to take painkillers afterwards! I
can still eat everything that I use to eat
before I had gallstone problems. Having
my gallbladder removed was the best thing
I ever did!

Stomach Pain After Gb Surgery Posted: 08-22-07 19:36pm
My daughter has had stomach pain since her
gb was removed 4 years ago. We have been
to many gi docs and had 2 endoscopies
done, hida scan, mri's and no one seemed
to know what was going on. I work for a
doctor and she gave me the name of a gi
doc that she knew and we went to him. He
said he thought the sphincter of oddi was
disfunctioning, so he sent us to yet
another gi specialist. He specializes in
the sphincter of oddi. Well we go on
friday for yet another hida scan to check
the pressure and see if she should have
the surgery on the sphincter. She is
having pain every morning, between her
breast where they removed the gb and
passing out every so often, crying and
missing work due to this. She is 24 years
old and has a very high pain tolerance and
won't take any pain meds. I wish I knew
what was going on as I feel so helpless. I
am ready to take videos and show them the
kind of pain she is in. Has onyone else
had this problem and what kind of surgery
will they do if the pressure is high?
Please help we are desperate. She doesn't
have a normal life since the gb surgery
