Unidentifiable Pain
Posted: 07-19-04 19:04pm

For approximately 5 months now I have had a constant pain around my ears specifically the outer ear (where doctor's say it is impossible that I could have pain) and next to the front cartilage. The pain is simply annoying and driving me crazy. I have been checked by a neurologist, an ear specialist, a tmj specialist ,catscans and the works. And nothing is found. I am running out of options here. Symptoms include ears crackling, unable to clear at times, I have had no hearing loss (tympany test was conducted) there is no wax build up or fluid in the ear. The pain is on both sides but is not in one place, it does radiate somewhat in and around the ear, but does not go away. Anti-inlammatories help but a little. I wake up with pain and goto sleep with pain.

It sounds like the problem may be your jaw. I would get another opinion.. Try going specifically to an oral surgeon..
