I started losing mine around the forth
month and it continued to around the ninth
month. My doctor said that I should be
drinking at least 46 oz. Of water a day
and most important is to get around 70
grams of protein a day. I went to gnc
and bought protein bars and shakes. Stay
away from the shakes with glutamine(sp.?)
in them, they really made me sick. It
will get better and you will not go bald.
I was so worried about it, but as soon as
I started getting all the protein and
really drinking my water it started to
improve. Oh and whatever you do, do not
dye or highlight your hair, it is already
to fragile don't put chemicals on it.
Take care and good luck,
holly

Hair Loss After Gastric Bypass Posted: 08-12-04 14:21pm
I had hair loss from 4-8 months after my
surgery and what I did to help the hair
grow was to take 1500mg of biotin a day.
Biotin is a "b" vitamin that helps nails
and hair grow. It really worked. I
also told one of my co-workers that had
the surgery to use it, and it worked for
her. Good luck...
