Stress And Your Period Posted: 07-23-04 00:22am
I've always heard that stress delays a
woman's period, but why does this happen?
Is it a purely pyschological thing, like
your mind is playing tricks on you or
what? Is it supposed to be delayed when
you stress about your period? Or can it
also be delayed from stressing about
something else like sickness or work?
For example, if I have been stressing
about work but have not thought about my
period at all, if my period was delayed 2
or 3 days could it have been from that?
I hope you know what I am asking.

Stress causes your body to produce
hormones that can interfere with your
period.Many types of stress,not just
worrying about your period can throw your
cycle off.Stress does not have to be bad
or upsetting to cause your period to go
haywire,either.Stress is defined as a
change in your normal routine.Going on
vacation, starting a new job or moving can
disturb your cycle.I don't know the exact
name of the stress hormone that causes
this to happen,but I hope I was a little
helpful.
