Acute Pancreatitis~
Posted: 07-25-04 00:29am

Hi, i've had acute pancreatitis and was hospitalized for maybe 25 days
i had surgery and had my gallbladder removed as well as gallstones
i believe. Now, i'm 24 years old and its been about a
year and im thinking that I might have it again, is that
possible to have gallstones even if I don't have a gallbladder?
I've been having abdomenal pains and back pains and
feels like my tummy might be a bit swollen, im scared.
I have also been drinking beet/carrot/tumeric juice freshly
made from a juicer which helps heal my pancreas. I was
wondering can I still get gallstones and is there a way that
those gallstones can go away by taking something? Please help.

Could be kidney stones- or several other things (appendix, intestinal blockages etc). You need to see a dr now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Stop being scared & act, also the juice may (depending on what is wrong) actually be the wrong thing for the current problem) - oh & if you could be pregnant then it could be an ectopic pregnancy or ovarian problems etc.

Yes you can still have stones without a gall bladder. The pancreas is also known to produce stones. Additionally 3% of people who have their gall bladder removed, will still form gall type stones. I honestly don't know if there is something you can take to make them go away. Best first to find out what kind of stones they are and if it is really stones causing the problems.

After years of telling docs I had gall bladder problems, finally a surgeon who I was seeing for another reason listened to me, and he ordered an ultasound. Several stones were found in my gall bladder, but none there when it removed. An ercp revealed that I had been passing them as my common bile duct was block sand/sludge.

Every since the ercp I have pain every single day and symptoms indicates I have advance chronic pancreatitis. This is no fun!! Please, if you haven't already, find out if you are really passing stones, or what else it is (could be pancreatitis). And if there are stones, where are they coming from.

In my humble opinion I do not think the juicing is doing any harm, though I am not familar with the properties of tumeric. I juice almost all my vegetables as I have lost the ability to digest them in their natural form from the chronic pancreatitis.
