Cramping After Sex!!!! Please Help Posted: 07-25-04 15:35pm
Hi, I am 38 weeks and me and my boyfriend
had sex last night and I have had cramps
since 3 am this morning and they have not
went away. They are very strong and I am
worried that they I did something wrong.
I means its been 12 hours and they are
still here. My doctor already said that
she could feel my babies head during a
pelvic exam. Please help if you can,
thanks.

Do you have "what to expect when you're
expecting?" I have that book, and I was
reading in it the other day about having
sex while pregnant. Well the book says
that you experience cramps after sex. Im
not sure about 12 hours later, but it does
say you get cramps a lot after. I would
call your doctor just to ask and make
sure.. ?

Thanks kourt, maybe I am just making a big
deal out of nothing. I just thought the
cramps would have gone away by now.

Im 23 almost 24 weeks pregnant, and my
boyfriend and I haven't been having sex
latley, but i've been having horrible
pains on my right side too, cramping and
such. But if you do have that book, or
know someone who does, read the section on
having sex while pregnant, its really
helpful! The whole book is actually..
Lol. I read it all the time.

Cramping at 38 weeks could be signs of
early labor! If it continues just give
your doctor a call and go get checked!
Good luck!

Wow, cool! Good luck you may be
delivering soon! Sometimes babies come
early, and sometimes conception is just a
little off or the ultrasound misread
slightly the age of the pregnancy. Both
of my sons were born through induction
(then natural delivery) at 37 1/2 weeks
(high blood pressure on my part) they both
weighed over 7 lbs. My daughter was
delivered via section at 40 weeks she was
9lbs. My point is only that if you are
in labor, which is possible, don't fret,
you have a perfectly viable baby ready to
be born. Just relax. Orgasm is
actually the same movement as labor. The
uterus contracts and expands. Though,
unfortunately they dont feel the same!
Sex this late may have stimulated your
uterus to contract heavily. Sometimes we
feel labor over a long period of time.
I had cramps for 2 weeks before finally
being induced with my second son. Let
your body do its thing. If you are
uncomfortable, take a warm bath or use
warm packs. Ask your doctor, they are
all different, but mine ok'd motrin this
late in pregnancy. It helped. Also,
don't rush it. If you think you are
experiencing the early stages of labor,
don't do any of the midwife solutions to
induce labor (nipple stimulation, castor
oil, rasberry tea). I tried that and
all it did was make my labor stronger and
more painful but never pushed it along.
Your body will be the deciding factor, it
will deliver when it is ready to push
forth that child!! Good luck!!!
