If I was smoking "heavy" for 2-month's of my pregnancy and not knowing I was pg and still smoke some now...(not as much..Trying to quit!) could that make my baby's measurement's smaller than what it should?? Not to mention I was on heavy medication for a medical condition! The baby is weighing about 1-3 cm smaller than what it should on what I have read!! I am curious if the smoking caused this and all my meds. I am worried about the seize of the fetus!

First of all what meds were you on, because yes some meds are harmful to a fetus. You need to share that info with an ob immediately. Yes smoking does cause smaller growth rate in babies. The part you may not know (or want to) is why. I wont begin to type it all, but here is a link that you may find interesting. this will tell it all. Hopefully you will be 'able' to stop soon and not just for the baby, but for good. Smoking is just as bad for children, even in the next room. Second hand smoke causes cancer, and though not as scary as the c word, it also has been proven time and time again to cause ear and upper respiratory infections, lung disorders such as asthma and chronic bronchitis and sometimes causes even the mildest cold to turn to pneumonia. Just ask all of us who got to sit in the car with a smoking parent. Lets just say the smoke does not go out the window, and blowing the smoke out the 'side' of the mouth does not make it go away.

Go to hypnosis, my mom did at age 56, she had smoked about 2 packs a day since she was 8. She hasn't had a cigarette since the first day she left the hypnosis session. I kid you not. Just a side note, her husband died of lung cancer and she has emphysema. It is sad seeing her breath like a 500 lb, 90 year old woman at 130 lbs and age 63. Also, my family is riddled with upper respiratory problems and ear problems. None of us smoked, well I suppose we did now didn't wee. I am guessing from conception until I was 16 I inhaled at least a pack a day. My mom always bragged that I only weighed 5 lbs at birth.

I apologize if this came across as preachy, I didn't intend it to. I have seen alot of sadness regarding babies. Stillborn, drug babies, malformities..Spontaneous abortion and the effects it has on parents. You have a viable baby in your belly. You need to start being mom today and quit now. Good luck, I have faith you can do it, and if you need support just email me!!!

You should talk to a doctor.. Especially before you quit smoking. Most doctors will tell you it is better for you to keep smoking but just cut back than to quit while you are pregnant. Usually the stress from quitting causes more damage to the baby than smoking...
