Okay, first of all, if you're missing 5 active pills, you need to use backup! Simple as that! Birth control can only be effective when taken properly, and this means taking each active pill at the same time everyday! You need not take the "reminder" pills, but you must start your new pack 7 days after you've ended the active pills, so taking the reminder pills can help. I don't know what to tell you, there is a possibility that you could be pregnant. I suggest you look into emergency contraception if it's not too late. You can get it at any planned parenthood or women's center. Check out both of these websites, they might help...And take a home pregnancy test!

^^ this website offers information on your type of birth control. You're using a combination pill, that means you're taking prostrogen and estrogen together. These are typically more effective tahn prostrogen only pills.

^^this website is from the planned parenthood website (compliments of hotasfrick, thanks again girl!). It offers information on different types of emergency contraception!

I highly suggest you become educated on birth control! Please! Do your reading! And good luck to you!
