New User, Becoming EHEALTHy
Hi all Smile I have this slightly embarrassing problem in which everytime I go a number 2 my arse(for want of a better word) bleeds. It started a few months back when I was constipated for a few weeks and started off just being a bit sore but now it has developed into full bleeding(not heavily but slightly) the problem is the wound just doesent have enough time to heal, as every time I go its broken again. This problem is starting to get me down as its affecting my whole life, I now eat as little as possible and go days just trying to hold it in as it can be pretty painfull. Any advice on how to fix this would be much appreciated ps im 17 if that helps and pps please excuse my rubbish spelling/grammer

Extremely EHEALTHy
Well it could be haemarrhoids(sp) or it could simply be that a blood vessel near the surface keeps breaking (& there are alot of blood vessels in that area) or it could be something more serious. Don't alter your diet in terms of trying to avoid eating so as to avoid going - but you could consider if you are getting enough fibre (selium is a good easy source especially as it can be added to cereals, juice, soups, stews etc) so as to ensure that when you do go it "comes" as easily as possible.

If however it continues or gets worse you will need to have it checked by a dr - it could be serious - that said - I started having the same problem at I guess about your age & still get it (sometimes very heavily - moer blood than anything!!) & I have been checked with various tests often over the years & i'm 49 & still here - so don't panic - it doesn't help.

It might be a fissure(sp?) (slit in your problem), I had it when I was young, killed to go to the toilet, it still bothers me now and then even 10 years after.
