Problem With Formula...for Those With Babies**

Err I am so frustrated right now Neutral I have been breastfeeding kaelyn for the whole time since i've had her on july 8th and she does good but she eats so irregulary and I can't get her on a schedule and it is so frustrating!!! When she was first born we tried her on similac advance but she was crying real bad that night because of the gas and the pediatrician put her on pro sobee which still did not help. Well now I am getting so frustrated with breastfeeding that I just wanna quit sooo bad!! I mean I feel bad but I can never tell if she gets enough and she doesn't eat regularly, sometimes she sleeps for 4 hours without waking up to nurse and when I wake her myself, she refuses. So today I called her ped. He told me if I wanted to quit then keep her on the pro sobee and mix it with more water (?? I know lol) so I did that and it doesn't really seem to help. Did anyone else have a prob with formula? And what did u do?
Im dying over here!!! Lol

Well, I haven't had my baby yet, but why don't you try using a breast pump, my doc says that you can freeze it for months at a time. Plus if you want to use formula, you can mix the formula with the breast milk (like half and half). As for a feeding schedule, I am not saying to starve her or anything, but have you ever thought about making a schedule, and not giving it to her when she wants it, but going by the schedule. She should get used to it after a couple of days. I think it should work b/c docs say to do the same thing with babies that have day and night confused. Your supposed to wake them up during the day, when they try to go to sleep, and they'll be knocked out by night fall, and after doing this for a couple of days they'll know what to do.

I would agree.. Try a breast pump, some babies just don't tolerate formula well... However I used good start and that worked great on the days my babies didn't nurse!
Best of luck I know its hard hun, your doing an awesome job keep up the good work!
