I had an ultrasound again the other day! The baby is measuring small for week's pregnant!! Have any of you women had experiance with wrong measurement's on an u/s....I know that a doctor can miss it by one cm and throw the whole thing off. Wouldn't this also throw my due date off a little! If any of you have went threw this could you please help me, im really worried. Question

How much difference was there between expected & actual size - & how many weeks pregnant are you - babies do come in many different sizes & can grow at slightly different rates - averages are used to measure real against expected so if the difference isn't too great (especially later in your pregnancy) don't worry.

Ok....
According to ultrasound by baby's size I am 12 weeks, baby is 10 weeks, but the baby should be measuring about 10cm or so and the baby crl is 5.5....It says 8cm on ultasound if you count legs.I know I concieved anywhere from the 8-12th and the doctor is saying based on baby's size, I concieved around 19-22nd ...But it's all being based on baby's size. I told him there was no way I concieved around that time, unless the sperm lived up to 7 day's or more !! That's why I was wondering if there could be a measurement error somewhere. Or just a small baby..He says that all babys grow the same at first but I just don't agree with that! I know that if he missed a few cm then it can throw this whole thing off!! I am just worried.

With my son (he's a holy terror but a healthy 9 year old now)the dr said i'd conceived 3 weeks I knew I had !!!! My husband & I were travelling in america with our 6 year old daughter & my mum & we were all sharing a room!! Now we're just not into sex with my mother & our daughter in the next bed!!!! So I knew i'd conceived either in san francisco(where we stayed 3 nights with a friend & had separate rooms or after we got back here - no way could it have been in between as nothing happened so obviously the dr kept saying one thing I said another, dr got due date right but everyone (even dr) admitted he was obviously overdue based on his birth weight & the condition of his skin at birth (what the midwife described as "overcooked"!!!!)

my daughter the dr had the due date ok, but I saw him the day before she was born (22hours before actually) & he said it would be at least another week or so as she hadn't turned & wasn't in position etc etc - well she arrived in a rush - so he got that wrong.

My point is drs are human & babies are all unique (& they have not read the books that tell them what rate to grow at etc!!!!) & will do their own unique things from word go - but the more stressed you are the more dangerous it can be for your babies health & well being - so relax. Yes there could be a problem but don't create one through stress, deal with it if & when you have to.

God bless you both.

Don't Worry!
I have 3 children. My eldest son and my middle son were both born full term at 37 1/2 weeks. I had told both doctors that I knew when I had conceived and that my cycle was a 5 weeks cycle. They told me I was wrong. If I had carried them to what they assumed was my due date, they would have both been around 11 lbs.

I think ultrasounds are great, but I think they are depended on a bit too much. Don't fret. Your baby will come when it is ready and if it is smaller, who cares, they all grow at different rates! I had a child who was 28 lbs at 3 months old and was not fat. He was normal size when born "average", and now he is 7 and 5'2 and 90 lbs, not an ounce of fat on him. Just relax., enjoy being pregnant and it will come when it comes!!!
