Q: Pregnant In Europe, Be Moved to Washington Dc

I'm 7 weeks pregnant, just turned 40. Due to work, my husband moved to washington last week. I'll be following him in two months. I'll be 4 months pregnant by then. Can anyone tell me who to consult when i'm in washington. A family-doctor? A midwife or obstetrician? Or a hospital? Who will keep a close eye on the pregnancy? Who is responsible for the checkups?
In holland we do have maternity assistents who give you assistance- at home - after the delivery. Do you have that kind of service as well? By the way: we are planning to stay for three years in the united states and we do have a good medical insurance.
Thanks for answering my questions, isa.

I am 19 weeks pregnant right now and I go to an obstetrician once a month. He or she will keep close tabs on you and check you once a month until about 28-30 weeks, then once every two weeks, then every week once you get closer to delivery.
