Possible Ms And Scared
Posted: 09-27-03 23:17pm

Hey everyone. I have been told for over a year that I have a possibility of having ms. I just got out of the hospital a week ago from having a really bad spell. Lots and lots of pain. I went from having 4 leasions in april to having 15 to 20 last week. I go back to the doctor on thursday to see what his plans are for me. I do not know if I should demand that he starts treatment or jus wait it out. I am in constant pain but I do also know that the treatments are not a walk iin that park. Any suggestions are welcome

Hey there I am pretty sure you should try some of the meds that are out there. My man of 3 yrs has ms and he is young still... He has tried every med that is out there and finally got the one that has not given him an attack yet. Its called rebif and he is also on cemo which he thinks is whats helping him. His noran doc. Says that the person is able to tell if the med is helping....Once u get on a med it will get better. Just stay positive and get some good friends to keep you busy....Do take it east and rest when ur body tells u too..Other than that I have heard that the pool is a wonderful exercise and helpful...My man wont go do that though..He is a stubborn one...Lol.

Hey there ;o)

my name is sarah and I have had this wonderful little thang they call ms for quite a long time... Or long to me lol I am nearly 29 and have had it since I was 20... Anywho there are tons of drugs to try out... One I am really interested in is low dose naltrexone... Do a serch on the net and check it out. I learned about it on the mswatch.Ca site in one of the forums. It seems that there is a high success rate of people not having any progression after beginning this medicine... It is one you have to keep on taking as there is no cure yet but hey compared to the other choices it seems like a nice and relatively eay one... The reason it's not had a drug study for ms is it would cost millions for the drug to go through testing and approval and the drug is dirt cheap due to the time it has been on the market for it's original intension... There seem to be a low chance of side effects and the idea of no needles is nice!!!!

I wish you much luck and hope you do something fast thats an awful lot of lesions so quickly don't sit on it hun get fighting!! Also the original patient treated by the doctor bahari with ldn thought after sometime that perhaps she didn't really have ms and came off the drug, about a month latershe had an attack went back on and has never since come off. She has been free from progression from my understanding while she has been on the drug ;o)

Wink
its easy to say but don't be scared. Therre are things that are much worse. The stress of fear only makes things worse. I'm on my 3rd med and this one seems to really help. Its rebif. Side effects aren't too bad. Better than the m.S. Effects. It seemed to bring me out of a major relapse. It lasted 4 months. In that time I lost my job, my insurance, and for a while my independence, talk about stress. It pretty much sucked, but there is always something new to try. See your Dr. And ask about rebif. It has brought me right up.
Good luck to you, there are meds out there to help with symptoms so don't just remainin pain and afraid, it will make things worse.
