After the removal of the appendix, what
happens to the surgical wound? Is it
closed and stitched or stapled? Or is it
left open to drain and close by itself?

It depends on how they do it. When I
had mine removed they did it
laparoscopically. I had stitches. When
my brother had his he had staples. If
they do a large incision i'm not sure.
