Anyone Know Anything About These Symptoms???
Posted: 08-03-04 19:02pm

Ok well im posting for heather who isnt feeling to hot, anyway. First of all she went to a fair on sunday all day and did the most moving around that shes done in a long time and monday is when it all started so...Here is whats going on, it all prgressivly got worse...Shes been having heavy back pain in her lower back and middle back that started lastnight and got worse even to the point she was crying cause it hurt so bad and she couldnt get comfortable, she has a really bad headache that has made her hearing a lil impared according to her, she couldnt sleep lastnight due to nausia(sp?Throw up feeling) then ended up taking a bath then throwing up alot then another shower then throwing up again and got very little sleep. She also has been having along with the throwing up diarhea type bowel movments and mainly lower abdominal pain but still pain all over her abdomin. Also dont know if its tmi but her pelvic area also has been hurting her along with swelling. Fetal movment has been minimal that she has noticed not like all the other days, and shes really been thinking that mackenzie is comin soon so idk I guess if anyone knows anything about these symptoms then feel free to tell us cause were kinda worried she comes back to my house tommaro for the weekend so I can take care of her better than no one at her house

Well as you know, swelling and headaches are typical symptoms of toxemia. She needs to get to a doc! Also, diarrhea and back pain (which sounds alot like back labor from what you're describing) are symptoms of upcoming labor, so it does sound like it will be soon. Tell her to take it easy and call her doc!

See but they already told us that she does not have toximia and she will be fine the rest of her pregnancy, I also thought of backlabor as soon as she said those things to me but we dont want her mom knowing this stuff cause then she wont let heather come to my house or come up here period cause she "needs" to be by her house when she goes into labor so her lazy a$$ doesnt have to drive all the way here to see her grandchild born im sorry for the language there but she really angers me off and she also says if heather goes into labor up here and doesnt drive all the way 2 hours back home to have mackenzie she will be in big trouble now if thats not right I dont know what is jeez but enough about her...

Ok first off i'm sorry you two are having to deal with this being seperated! I'm sure you are constantly worried about her! Ok, if this is not "normal" for her...And I think its safe to say that diarrhea, vomitting, hearing problems and pain are not normal...Then you definately need to call the doctor. As for the doctor telling you that she will be fine the rest of her pregnancy...Thats dumb on his part because how does he know nothing else is gonna happen. Thats like one of the first things they teach us in school is to never tell patients everything is gonna be ok, because you dont know! I know that you want heather to be able to come visit this weekend, but you really do need to put her and mackenzies health as a priority, and I know you do! Like erin said, toxemia....The symptoms you are describing sounds like a classic case of toxemia. And I dont say that to scare you, but you guys really do need to call the doctor! Best of luck to both of you! I hope heather starts feeling better soon!
Lauren

oh another thing....Toxemia, pregnancy induced hypertension (pih), pre-eclampsia, and eclampsia.....They are all essentially the same thing! Besides the fact that pre-eclampsia is a sign that full blown eclampsia could occur without treatment. All those terms are pretty much used interchangably. Just thought I would clear that up! Wink

You need to call a Dr. A.S.A.P!!!! There is no way that they can tell her she will be fine the rest of her pregnancy. You can develop toxemia at any point even afterwards. It's not something to mess around with. Those are very serious symptoms. Call a Dr. Now!

Also, just to ad... Make sure she drinks enough fluids... With all that throwing up and diahhrea she'll get dehydrated very quickly, something else that can bring on preterm labor... Hope she's okay!! Try calling the 24 hour nurse line at the hospital, they should be able to help out.... If not, take her to the er if you have too... Its better to be safe than sorry!!

Well I talked to the nurse at my doctors office(doc isnt in) and they are gonna put me on a monitor for 30mins. But honestly what is a monitor gonna do for 30mins? They said after that I can leave, well how is that gonna tell them how ive been feeling? I explained everything and thats all she said, monitor thing. Are they worried about the baby or something? Please help, thanks. My doctors nurse doesnt like me ever since I got outa the hospital...O well.
