Hi, im dave from geogria, im 17. When I
was little I had a wandering eye :d , a
few years ago I got surgery on it, and it
looks normal, most people ive been around
for awhile never even knew my eye was
messed up until smoeone told them, even
before the surgery. But now after the
surgury, you can still tell it wanders a
tiny bit if you look real close, and that
eyelid seems to be a tiny bit lower.
Most people dont have a clue. I got a
whole lot of friends, play sports, got
some muscle, 6-pack, decent car, got a
decent job, im a normal kid. But im
soooooo self-conscious. I havn't had a
girlfriend since like 7th grade! The
girls that like me seem to not be good
enough for me or somethin, and I feel that
my friends will make fun of me or think
less of me or somethin, and I just plain
dont like most of them girls. Theres a
really cute (well more hot than cute) girl
that likes me now, but she used to date a
friend, and hes kinda discusting .
Just seems like theres always a problem,
im so self conscious when it comes to
girls. Any advice??

Are you enjoying school? I know in this
difficult judgemental world, times can be
trying especially if you are already self
concious...If a girl likes you
great....Accept that...Hold your head up,
and stand tall enjoy these young
years...Most of all look @ yourself in the
mirror and know that you are looking @ a
very handsome guy..Be sure to wake up,
tell yourself how lucky this world is to
have your presence ! Remember looks are
wonderful to have but, it is what is in
the inside that counts.

Yeah I love school, like talkin with
friends, and lunch, and gym. But I
graduated, cant wait till I go back to
school. I know im a decent lookin guy,
and the eye is like im possible to notice,
but im still self concious for some
reason.

You say you're self-conscious but you also
give some pretty judgemental reasons why
you won't date girls - the "hot" one - so
she made a bad choice in the last guy she
dated(a friend of yours though!!!!) maybe
she learnt something - as to others not
being good enough, how would you like it
if they said that about you without even
giving you a chance!!

actually a very egotistical thing to be,
isn't it? We all need to be conscious of
ourselves, that's what makes us aware of
and responsible for our actions. So just
remember that everyone is self-conscious.
If you focus in on some aspect of yourself
that you think sets you apart or is not
perfect, does that mean that except for
that one fault you would be perfect?
Obviously not.
You might start looking at other people a
bit more closely. No one is perfect. The
guy who's 6'2", movie-star looks, natural
athlete? Heck, maybe he only has one
testicle. Clark gable apparently had
really bad halitosis. Anne boleyn
(married henry viii) had three nipples.
The fact is that everyone has many, many
things which make them less than perfect.
It's what makes us interesting.
