Throat Disorder

Can anyone help me? I have a problem with liquids lodging in my throat. I know when it happens and if I make it to the sink quickly, I can cough it up. Recently, it caught up with me and I blacked out before I reached the sink and had a bad fall. Fortunately, I recovered. A specialist has told me there is nothing wrong with my throat.
Can anyone give me a diagnosis?

Go see a different docter and make sure he know the problem.
Are there certin liquids that do this or is it just at randomn times with different drinks? Has this always happened or if not how long has it been going on? Sounds like you need a new docter.

This is a random situation with any liquid. Only noticed last five years.
Will try new specialist.

Has your throat been x-rayed? Has a biopsy been done?

Does this happen at times when you might be stressed (even if you aren't aware of it)?? Stress could easily cause something like this - but you still need to rule out medical conditions!!

Some people have a long or fat uvula (thing that hangs at back of throat) - has anyone looked at that as a possible cause?

Thank you all for your posts. I'll pass them on to my gp when he sets up an appointment with another specialist.
