I have genital herpes type 1 my first
outbreak was two months ago. I have yet
to get another one. I take a
multi-vitamin, i'm vegaterian so I eat
lots of fruits and vegtables, i'm very
physically active (more so since it's
summer), I take one acyclovir tablet a
day. So my question is since I have a
healthy body what is the percent chance
that I can pass the virus to a partner if
he is using a condom, and I am not having
an out-break?

First off if you are not having an
outbreak and your partner has a condom it
is my understanding that it is unlikly to
pass it on. If you feel an outbreak
coming on don't have sex or if the
outbreak has not fully healed. I know
this from talking with an infectous
disease doc, when I feared I could have
had an exposure. Fortunatly everything
turned out ok.

Jamie,
first off I want to thank you for
responding. To answer your question my
outbreak was two months ago, and it healed
within 10 days. The person I got it
from, and the person i've been having sex
with are two different people. I hope
this answers your question. The person
i've been having sex with is an old
boyfriend. He wanted to know the percent
chance of him getting genital herpes, but
all I can tell him is it's very unlikly,
because that's all anyone tells me.
