She Is Not Moving
Posted: 08-04-04 17:55pm

For the past few days she hasnt been moving hardly ... And I figure well thats prob. Bc she has less room to move around since im 36 weeks now. But today she hasnt moved hardly any at all I layed on the couch a lil bit ago on my back for a lil bit to see if shed move then I turned on my side then to my other side and she never moved and I layed in each spot for a lil bit but she never moved then when I sat back up I felt her move just a very light movement and that was it and I dont want to call my dr and them tell me to go to the hospital and it be nothing but then again what if sumthings the matter. Cuz I have looked it up online and it says if you dont feel them move at least 10 times per hour then to call ur Dr. .... So I was wondering what yall think I need to do maybe somthing to eat or drink to see if that helps or any way to lay or anything to do to see if she moves or is this just normal once ur this far along???????? Someone please respond soon im worrying!

I just recently had this problem too. I read that your supposed to drink some oj, or milk, and then lay on your side and try to count 6-10 movements within an hour, write down when the first movement starts, and then write down when you get to 10, or else, if you dont get 10 movements within an hour, call your doc a.S.A.P. And if you cant get ahold of him, just go to the hospital anyways and tell them whats going on... Im not sure how long ago this was posted, so im sorry if this is late.

How far along are you when you should feel at least 10 movements an hour?? Kayla hardly ever moves around. But some times she will go an hour with moving, and then just stop again. But for the most part, I don't get 10 movements an hour! Some hours I get no movements at all. Anyway, I gotta run, my stomach hurts, cause I need to eat!! Been out all day at the dpss office trying to get some cash assistence. Baby is saying feed me!!!! Lol

Around the 28th week you should be feeling at least 6-10 movements in an hour, and if you dont, then you are supposed drink some oj, or milk and try to feel 6-10 again....But this includes all movement, that you feel with your hand, and every toss or kick, tumble, each one is a seperate movement, and you will usually feel several more than 10, depending on wether or not the baby is sleeping, or being lazy. Lol I feel like 30 in one minute at times.

Lol this was just a funny (but probably stupid) thought that just ran through my head... "hey mom, my doctor just prescribed me to coke, I need a couple bucks to go get some"... Lol sorry, it was just funny. Hehe I wish that kevin didnt have to take me to the doc today, cuz then I would tell him the doc prescribed me to a ~bunch~! Of chocolate.....Mmmmhhh yummy, I could eat like 10 big kat bar thingys right now. Laughing

Lol eww thats a lot of chocolate!!!!! Haha!! I can't stand eating that much at a time! Any sweets makes me sick if I have too much. Including juices, or sodas. I have been drinking a lot of Dr. Pepper and limon tea, do you think this might have anything to do with her not moving around that much anymore??? She not only disapeared (my tummy is gone haha) but she isn't moving as much as she use too. Sad it all started with me drinking all that soda. Sad I am not drinking anymore though.

Ok everything is fine... I went on and called my dr las night and he told me to go to the hospital and they would hook me up to the monitors and watch me so I got there about 8 and after waiting two hours in the waiting room I finally went back and they put the monitors on me and she said they would watch me for 20 min and if everything looked fine I could go home well after that 20 minutes she called my doc and he said I had to stay for 24 hours so they could watch me n the baby bc on the monitor ehr heart rate dropped a few times while they were monitoring me that 20 minutes and I was contracting she said but I couldnt even feel them so he wanted me to stay to watch the babys heartbeat and my contractions. Then he came in this morning to check on me and he said everything looked fine that he would sign me out. He checked me again before I left and said I was 80% efaced and 1 cm dilated and sai dhe thinks I will have her early but sometimes he gets proved wrong to that. And that if I get worried again bc of decreased movement just to come back so everything is fine

Drs & books can only give you the general ideas & the things that are most likely to happen.....

My daughter moved so much & kicked so hard my dr thought she'd break my ribs (that from about week 24!!) she arrived by kicking off from my ribs (using them as a springboard) (took 3 3/4hours)whereas my son well no-one but me ever got to feel him move & I rarely ever felt a movement the entire pregnancy - he arrived by laying still & making me do all the work - no contractions, no help - just a hell of alot of work & pain(took 21 minutes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!).

Hey girl glad to hear everything is fine. I know the baby likes to jump off the moitors often and that causes the heartrate to drop too. Today at my non stress test she was off for like 3 minutes I started holding my breath, lol. Then she moved back under the monitor and I was like omg and started busting out laughing, lol. Yeah anytime the baby is being calm they say drink a coke and lay on left side do your kick counts, 10 in 1 hour is what you get, anything less go to hosp!!! Glad to hear it was all good and just wanted to give you a little tip!!!!
Lots of love,
